/ August 30, 2007My son was diagnosed with catatonic schizophrenia today. He is being sectioned under the Mental Health Act and goes through his first treatment of ECT tomorrow on Friday 31st August 2007. I stumbled upon your webjournal when I was researching the illness. Thanks so much, your writings have really given me an insight into his illness. I am still in shock really after being told he had this. Best wishes

/ August 30, 2007I am so sorry your son is going through this illness and trust his treatment with ECT is successful.
Mental illness is difficult all around; for the person who is living with it, as well as, the people who are close to him also. It’s tough to see a loved one in pain, as the feeling of helplessness is there – but there is always hope. Be strong for you and him.
